Common questions from practices
Is it really free?
Yes. Practices pay the laboratory for the work, at the DentalTrak network price. There is no platform fee, no subscription and no charge for the scanner or the Smile Simulator. DentalTrak earns a small fee from the laboratory on each case it receives.
What are the conditions of the free scanner?
One: send at least $1,000 of lab work per month through DentalTrak. The scanner itself is free. If a month comes in under $1,000, you pay the difference so the minimum is met. For example, $800 in cases means a $200 payment. The scanner stays in your practice as long as you are an active member of the network.
Can I keep using my current scanner?
Yes. DentalTrak accepts exports from all major scanners. If you already own one you can connect it and skip the placement.
Who do I talk to when something is wrong with a case?
Message the laboratory directly inside the case. DentalTrak support is copied on every case and steps in when a remake, rush or dispute needs a decision.
What if I do not like the lab I am matched with?
Tell us. We will review the cases together and, if the fit is wrong, rematch you with another approved partner.
